Michelle Carey-Redic, MA, LCDC

Are you ready to change but apprehensive about the process? I understand. Well, you don't have to wait any longer to begin experiencing new way of living and thinking. I have counseled individuals, couples, and families who are successfully recovering from the negative consequences of substance abuse and addiction. I believe in encouraging addicts and alcoholics to confront how their behavior has negatively impacted their life and will assist you and loved ones in developing goals specific to learning and implementing new behaviors. I offer Christian counseling when there is a personal desire to incorporate biblical principles as a component of your counseling experience.

In the event your loved one is struggling with alcohol, drug

addiction, compulsive gambling or other destructive behaviors

related to substances, staging an intervention might be the

best way to help the person receive help. People with serious

addictive behaviors are often in denial that they have a problem.

When other attempts to help prove ineffective, you can join

forces with friends, families and the  interventionist to confront

the person with the truth and a detailed plan of action. Although

resistance and denial to seeking help is very common, we do not

want your loved one to continue living on the edge of life.

I will help you to identify the appropriate people who will become

an influential part of a recovery team. The team will enable their individual and family to accept treatment and recovery. My My role is to support, educate, provide guidance, direction and training, as well as the facilitation of the intervention and

aftercare plan.

Addiction counseling not only addresses the identified addiction but the co-existing issues related to family, relationships, employment, education, spirituality, physical health, mental health and legal concerns. I tailor therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of the individual. Together we will develop strategies for achieving them. Depending on your particular circumstances and personal philosophy, my approach to treatment includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, Choice Therapy, and Reality Therapy. My goal is to provide you with a treatment model that will effectively promote acceptance of their disease, teach ways to make changes and foster recovery.
